Fishing in Natural Lakes and Streams

Fishing in DenmarkIf may be tempting to stop the car as you pass a stream or lake and bring out your fishing tackle, but don't do it, unless you have a fishing card!

Fishing rights in natural lakes and streams are nearly always private, but are often let to local angling societies which issue day or week permits. In addition to the above-mentioned obligatory fishing license, rates are approx. DKK 50,00-150,00 for a day permit, and DKK 100,00-350,00 for a week permit. At many places, a boat can be rented with fishing rights included.

In many cases, the cards are available from the local tourist office which can also offer help and give detailed advise on freshwater fishing in the area.
