Starting out from the parking lot at Warmingsgade/Ålegården in the centre of Kolding there is a trail approx. 5 km long along the lower part of the river valley. The trail is well suited for wheelchairs and walking-impaired people.

Follow the gravel trail along the river across Vestre Ringgade, the natural trail follows the river and the railway. On your right you can enjoy the sight of the cropped meadows along the river, 2.4 km out to Plovfuren, to the right where you can cross the river.

Across the river you turn to the right along Alpedalsvej and later Stadionvej. When you have passed Vandværksvej, you can turn right again and follow a trail behind the stadium Kolding Stadion across a bridge, which takes you back to the natural trail, where you started. Follow the trail to the left back to the starting point.

Further Away from the Centre
If you want to go rambling along the river valley further away from the centre, it will be advantageous to start your walk at the motorway bridge at the bottom of the gravel road Præstekæret. There the trail turns left under the bridge towards the Harte Power Plant, or to the right along small tracks. The latter is not recommendable to walking-impaired and people in wheelchairs. .

The area is very popular among anglers and ornithologist. The wildlife of the area includes among others badgers, foxes, hares, deer, marden and stoats. Of bird species the following can be mentioned: heron, common buzzards, sparrow hawks, goshawks, kestrels and raven. Of small birds the following can be mentioned: lesser whitethroats, warblers, reed warblers, sedge warblers, grasshopper warblers, nightingales, yellow buntings, desert finch larks, blackcaps and many other.
