Koldinghus

In 1268 the Danish king built Koldinghus as a castle to guard the border between the kingdom of Denmark and the duchy of Schleswig. The oldest preserved parts date to the 14th hundreds. Today it is a beautiful castle, which is the only royal castle still remaining in Jutland. There are rich opportunities to explore Koldinghus, e.g. on the mission "On the track of history at Koldinghus" for large children and their parents.

The Danish Museum of Nursing History

Located beautifully directly on the bay of Kolding the small museum is in authentic surroundings. The museum, which tells the history of Danish nursing was part of the Christmas seal sanatorium Koldingfjord - the first Christmas seal sanatorium for tuberculosis infected children in Denmark.

The Toy Museum
At the Legetøjsmuseet - the Toy Museum - you will find all sorts of different toys from times gone by, and also lots of things, which you know from today. See everything from dolls, teddybears and books to train sets and cars

Kolding Miniby

At the workshop of Kolding Miniby you will feel almost like a giant taking a walk in Kolding. The mini town is namely a reconstruction of the town, as it looked in 1860-1870 at a scale of 1:10.1:10.

The Farmer's Museum (Landbomuseet)

Just outside Kolding you can visit the Farmers' Museum and get an impression of how life was in the country in former times. See the tools, which our ancestors used on the farm and in the field and visit the kitchen, where Grandmother prepared supper for everybody on the farm.
