In 1268 the Danish king built Koldinghus as a castle to guard the border between the kingdom of Denmark and the duchy of Schleswig. The oldest preserved parts date to the 14th hundreds. Today it is a beautiful castle, which is the only royal castle still remaining in Jutland. There are rich opportunities to explore Koldinghus, e.g. on the mission "On the track of history at Koldinghus" for large children and their parents.
