Big Attactions for the Entire Family - right on Kolding´s Doorstep

Kolding is the perfect starting point for daytrips to some of the other popular family attractions in Denmark. To help choose a destination, the tourist offices have selected some attractions which may be of particular interest. If some information about the individual attractions is required, please contact the tourist offices in Kolding or Christiansfeld for futher information and brochures.

 

LEGOLANDLEGOLAND (40 km/25 miles)
For most families a visit to the infamous LEGOLAND® is an essential part of a visit to the Kolding area. Here creativity, fantasy and fun meet in a world of LEGO ® bricks and action. Children kan operate their own LEGO ® "machines" take part in exciting building challenges and enjoy interesting mixtures of interactive games and plenty of other cool activities.





Givskud ZooGivskud Zoo (40 km/25 miles)
Go to the Zoo and have a wild day! Givskud Zoo is a completely strange world in the middle of Jutland where visitors can get in close contact with wild animals from five continents. Go through the safari section in your own car or in the safari bus and see animals from Africa, North America and South America. If you have small children, the safari train will be a hit - the train goes into the petting zoo, where children may help the driver feed the animals.



Danfoss UniverseDanfoss Universe (90/56 miles)
Danfoss Universe is a science adventure park stuffed with the strange phenomena of nature, exciting technology and fun activities, which will provide for an amusing day for the entire family. Feel the cold sneak up on you while walking through the iceberg in the glacier simulator and feel the heat, the vibrations and the smell of sulphur in the volcano chamber.

Ribe (55 km/35 miles)
Experience a completely special atmosphere when strolling the cobbled streets of the oldest town in Denmark. Do not miss the view from the top of the tower of the only five-naved cathedral in Denmark dating back to 1150. At the Ribe Viking Centre, three of the Viking installations found near the town have been reconstructed. Here visitors can experience the Viking environment, see the artisans at work, play games or try a hand at shooting a bow and arrow or even take paart in bread making.


Odense (70 km/44 miles)
Today, the native town of Hans Christian andersen is the third largest city in Denmark and is home to many entertaining activities and sites for the whole family. Among the many attractions is the Hans Christian Andersen House where visitors can see some of the letters written by the famous author and some of his personal belongings and rare accounts of his exhilarating adventures abroad. Visit also the open air museum, the Funen Village, and experience Funen as the island would have looked in the 17th century.
