Kongeåmuseet i Vamdrup
The municipality of Vamcrup was established in 1968 by a merger of the parishes Vamdrup and Hjarup. In 1970 the parish of Ødis and the part of the Municipality of Vamdrup, which was south of the border river Kongeåen, was part of the duchy of Schleswig before 1864.
The churches in the municipality are all originally Romanesque, however in Ødis they built a completely new church in 1856-57 on the site of the old. The oldest known manor is Drenderup originally Gl. Havgaard, from the fourteenth-hundreds, the
ramparts of which are still there. The manor and other large farms later bacame part of the Kolding Cavalry district. In 1921 Drenderup was parcelled out into approx. 20 small-holdings.

Fovslet Skov (forrest) is a rest of the large Farrisskov, which until the seventeenth-hundreds trended south of the Kongeåen.

The railway from Fredericia to Farris, which was opened in 1866 with connection to Flensburg meant, that the railway station in Vamdrup until 1920 had an important function as border railway stataion. Kolding Sydbaner, which existed from 1911 to 1948 has a line to Hejls and one to Vamdrup with stations in Ødis and Ødis-Bramdrup a.o.
The highway between Kolding and Tønder passes through Vamdrup. The Kolding Airport lies north-east of Vamdrup.

Especially, the municipal centre Vamdrup situated between the old villages of Vester Vamdrup, Øster Vamdrup and Bastrup have had considerable industrial growth during recent years. I Vamdrup the Kongeåmuseet is situated, where the history of the railway junction can been studied.
